Your Love Story

Taylor and I met through high school. We became best friends and over time our friendship grew and eventually it turned into love. Ever since 2009 we have been best friends, lovers and now husband and wife.

The Proposal

In 2012 Taylor and I went for a walk along the beach at night under the clear starry night sky, he turned to me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.. obviously I said yes!

Taylor and I got engaged just 7 months after we got together, but we’ve been engaged for 6 years.

We went shopping in mackay one day and as I went into a couple of shops Taylor had disappeared. Little did I know he went and brought my engagement ring!!!

Honeymoon Heaven

We are yet to have a honeymoon, we have decided to wait till our kids are older.

Hens and Bucks

We had a joined hens and bucks night. We were only planning on having a dinner at the Reef Gateway but decided last minute that we would go out into town to celebrate.

Splurge Vs Save

Our budget was was about $12 grand but who sticks to those anyway?? Hahaha.

We splurged on our wedding videographer, decor and photos and saved on our location, dress and flowers.

I also looked into a wedding planner but in the end I decided to do it myself. That experience I will never forget!! I did need a little guidance however and the wonderful Louise at divine weddings Whitsundays was more than happy to help me!

Whitsunday Wedding Venue

The Whitsundays has been my home for 12 years now so it just made sense to have it here! I wanted to show my friends and family what a beautiful part of the world we live in, so what better place to have it than right on the waters edge at the Whitsunday Marine Club.

That sunset over the water made for beautiful photos and the colours in the sky were so pretty it just made the night even more spectacular!

Staying in the Whitsundays

Taylor and I stayed 4 nights at Marina Shores, just 500m away from the Whitsunday Marine Club, and right over the boardwalk which looks out onto the water. Our room was so clean and user friendly and it also made for beautiful photos.

Wedding Day Vision

Our wedding was simple but beautiful. We didn’t want anything too over the top as we wanted the destination to speak for itself. We used soft periwinkle blues and glass jars with submerged babies breath for our table runners.

Sit Down or Cocktail?

Taylor and I invited 65 guests to our wedding and it was great to see that everyone turned up. We decided to have a sit down alternative drop, which by the way the meals were delicious!! All thanks to Aquava catering!

Funniest Moment

We borrowed our friends fancy car and as we get into the car the driver goes to wind the key over and the car won’t start. I tried to keep my cool and not panic and just as I was about to call for some back up, the lovely Lauriely (my Makeup lady) came to the rescue and chauffeured me to my wedding.

Remarkable Memories

Knowing I was going to cry when I walked down the isle and seeing Taylor there all handsome and proud definitely got me in the feels!

Seeing my partner getting chocked up on his vows, I’ve never seen that side of him before so that was a very special moment for me.

Supplier Shout Outs

I chose these wedding suppliers because every single one of them were very professional and always got back to me when I had a question or worry.

I’d like to give a special shout out to international couture for giving me the opportunity to buy their one of a kind sample dress before their release date!! Once I laid eyes on this beautiful dress I couldn’t part with it!! It was love at first site haha!!!

Bride’s Wisdom

So once we decided that 2018 was the year for us, Taylor and I put a few dates forward and once everyone we wanted was available we locked in the 2nd of June. That only gave us 9 months to put a wedding together. It’s very do-able but I’d recommend at least 12 months of planning haha

Definitely invest in a photographer and videographer as once the day comes to an end, those photos and videos are the only thing you have to look back on to remember your wonderful day! It goes so fast and before you know it you forget the little things.

Have a timeline!! It helped my day run smoothly and when the day was coming to the end I realised I was 10mins ahead of schedule so I was able to have a breather and just enjoy that moment.
